Best way to set up a AMV in after effects?

So I recently got AE and I have no idea how to setup a AMV in it =\
I learned keyframing and stuff I just have no idea what to with AE amv wise o.o

Wait, you wanna make the vid using just AE? Usually AE is just for adding effects, after the video is finished...

A lot of AMV's have been made (and still are) using only AE.
As for the question, set it up how you would in any other program. Import the video, then edit it...:| If you're new to AE I'd suggest reading some guides in the Adobe section of this forum or checking out some tutorials.

I actually find editing in AE reduces the the problem of oversync alot, since you only want to make cuts when you absolutely have to.
