dont drag my shitty band in here. i know we suck. my stepbrother is 12. no one is 13. age doesnt matter.

dammit is the ONLY good song blink 182 ever did. the rest is complete and utter shit.

who gives a shit what i make my images with, and i dont, i used paint until i got photoshop.

theyre not accessable for a good reason. i couldve gotten them hosted, but theyre all watermarked and i dont think they should be up for download. i have premeire, so i could remake them, but i also dont think i should show vids with sub-par source footage.

grow up. this isnt a mud slinging contest. i cant say i didnt do any, but id rather stop it here than start a flame war.

Can you back up your statement that punk's death is now complete? What is punk missing now that it apparently used to have in the older era? What's DIFFERENT now than then?

Must give proof lyrically, musically, or thematically...can't really accept the line of reasoning that punk stinks now just because a punk legend died.

And....might wanna read the reast of the thread. We already established that Blink isn't really punk...just pop punk. And I disagree...I liked dammit but also some of their other songs simply because they're interesting musically...although I must agree that Dammit rocks. Another really good one that I liked was either...what was it? Either Anthem Part II or Adam's song, can't remember which. Check those two out, cuz I think one's pretty good.

dammit is not the only good song they ever made, you'd know that if you had given all of their stuff a chance, isntead of listening to mtv singles. Carousel is a great song by blink, and one of their very first. They still play that live today. And I said 13 or something like it, so how old are they? 14? You can't just go claiming ultimate knowledge calls on music when you don't even know what you're talking about. What the country likes, what makes mtv does not make the band. Hell if mtv actualy played good music, nelly, eminem, and especialy britney spears would not be the top artists of the nation. And as for you music videos, what's with that large list if you just claimed they're never going to be seen? Put stuff up that's to be seen, even if it's not downloadable from here, or anywhere on the net, tell people where they can get it, you'd be surprised what trouble some people will go through to see your vids. Good quality or not.

I may not be a 50 year old wise man with ultimate life experience, but I'm old enough to know that no one knows everything. You havn't shown the slightest sign of an open mind, in any of your posts. YOU DO NOT KNOW what you are talking about, yet you insist you input and opinions are golden, and that none of us should have it any other way. The comments on my banner are one thing, that's an opinion, the knowledge you're claiming to have over music is just intolerable.

When you realize you don't know everything, and act like it's true, I'll cool it, but until then, you deserve this.

my stepbrother is a rabid blink 182 fan. ive heard most of their albums countless times. they SUCK.

as much as i hate eminem, hes a decent rapper, and deserves recognition in the rap community.

i do tell people where they can find my vids. i say IM me in my org profile.

i know im not always right, but right now, i think i am, and im trying to argue my point, but itd be easier if we stayed on the topic of punk rock.

i was mostly joking about the lens flares, all in fun.

Just strolling by and noticed this, your contradicting your self there Tsunami, you say chef doesnt have an open mind, yet, where the hell is yours. "Hell if mtv actualy played good music, nelly, eminem, and especialy britney spears would not be the top artists of the nation."
Ill admit, i hate everything except metal, the good ol rock(yes, elvis) and classical. But if your going to say someone else has not an open mind, make sure that your is.

Still...I haven't yet heard any REAL EVIDENCE as to why punk is "dead." I don't really see how it's dead...if there are still people punk rocking and there are still punk rock fans, how can it be dead? And what is it SPECIFICALLY about modern punk that irks you so? What's different? We still haven't addressed this issue.

I understand what you're saying, and yes the "Hell if mtv actualy played good music" is a bit much, but the fact about those artists monopolizing sales is till true. Pretty much one artist sells or gets noticed on mtv at a time, per genre. Right now with punk it's new found glory, pop it's christina agulara with dirty, rap it's eminem with his new music in his movie. They don't really focus on multiple stuff, and I guess that's what I was trying to say.

wizard:

hmmm...well, its mostly a mind thing for me. it didnt really die BECAUSE of joey's death, it just topped it all off.

differences: well...it just is. they know how to play, which kills the style...eh it really isnt in sound. its more the fact that the punk scene died and then some people revived it around the late 80s, but with a different sound, and it was still called punk. punk music was a radical (in the political sense) music style, theres no real revolution connected with the punk of today. its like how rock isnt new and revolutionary anymore, its just a style of music now...

joey's death topped it all off eh, you say that's when it started last time I said you contradicted yourself. Not to mention if it did fall 1994, or started to fall 1994, how was it revived before it even fell? Timelines looks like this: 1980 1990 2000 (so you know)

If you knew what you were talking about your information wouldn't change all the time.

And the ramones knew how to play, otherwise they wouldn't be popular. Also to top it off, they're not punk rock, they're merley punk. Punk rock includes the used, thrice, and finch. Listen to some of their stuff.

If you admited you don't know what you're talking about, dropped this, and gave an honest opinion, I'd stop. But you're continuously making no sense at all.

merley? wtf? punk rock is punk rock. i spose merley is the modern term for true...?

and you are right. i worded that wrong. punk all but disappeared around 1980, then there was ska, then there was husker du, janes addiction, bad religion who are all considered punk (not as much janes addiction now, but they were), but it was different in style that earlier punk rock. then it all started dying around the mid nineties, then croaked in the new millenium.

see, you're still acting like you know what you're talking about, you havn't got a clue. There is a diffrence between punk, and punk rock. The same diffrence between punk and pop punk. The ramones are punk, blink-182 is pop-punk (though they used to be punk) and bands that sound nothing like the ramones such as finch, the used, and thrice are classified as punk rock. The ramones today, are not punk rock, only punk. Why don't you just drop this already, you don't know what you're talking about. Download some music from one of those three bands, and you'll see.

so lets see, what have i learned: that people have started using the term punk rock in a different context as punk. thats fucked.

punk rock is punk rock. punk=punk rock, since punk is rock, so punk=punky rock=punk. no difference.

stop telling me to drop it. i dont just "drop" musical arguments.
