Michael Jackson Dies

Posted Jun 25th 2009 5:20PM by TMZ Staff

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

A source inside the hospital told us there was "absolute chaos" after Jackson arrrived. People who were with the singer were screaming, "You've got to save him! You've got to save him!"

We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Story developing...

He was probably one of the weirdest people ever.

His death is no exception.

Well, I think a lot of people don't realize that the man grew up without ever really getting to be a kid. So to him it was like he never grew up, he was still just an innocent kid in a way. Granted, the plastic surgery and skin color change was weird...but I think he just wanted to be accepted.

Only good thing he ever did was Thriller and a 12 year old. And I'm not so sure about Thriller.

Serious: Always sad when someone dies, I'm just indifferent that it was him.

I think that was the cause for one, and, well, that was a weird childhood too. He had a strange life, and this is a fitting end, is all I mean.

I'm ambivalent towards the man, generally.

His death is very strange, and perhaps even a bit shocking. Namely because he was a cultural icon. He's been a pervading force of news in the media for years, and the root of jokes for essentially my entire life. The entire thing is just bizarre.

Aww... Poor guy. =(

I'll admit he was eccentric, but I really liked his music as of late. I think it was Kiki's various AMV with that song of his that got me hooked.

Anyway, RIP

Like his music... but the guy was a nutter in his later years. But I can hear millions of little boys singing praises...

Skin color change wasn't his choice...

Farrah Fawcett also died. So apparently the world lost two has-been old white women today.
