2009 AWA Editor's dinner

Postby Mr Pilkington » Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:34 am

Per usual I am a good 3 months ahead of myself. But that is the nature of the pilk.

Talking to our good friends at the Cheesecake Factory today they are stoked to have us return! It's a great place for us as they generally segregate the rear of the restaurant to house our group on one generalized area; most of the other restaurants in the simply don't have those accommodations, and the few that do are not in walking distance. Plus the food is good and portions large enough that 2 adults can easily share a meal. Do I even need to mention they have drinks and desert?

The protocol will be as always. We'll meet at the lobby of the Renaissance Waverly around the giant plastic ice sculpture circa 8pm Thursday Sept 17th. Around 8:30ish we'll head to the Cheesecake Factory, I set us up under the group name "AMV" with a reservation for 9pm just in case you're running late. If you plan to attend simply respond here and I'll add you to the list.

Sadly to say there are a few rules:
No Cosplay please. -I really can't stress this enough. There haven't been a large number of offenders in the past, but imagine trying to cram 100 people into a restaurant with a dozen or so of them in bulky outfits and extensive person effects. No exceptions.
Register with enough time to drop your stuff off. -This pretty much follows the same theory. Plus last year the registration line was insane, so set aside enough time to make it all happen.
Each editor is allowed a maximum of 1 non-editing friend. -Basically this rule prevents us from being over run by a bunch of screaming fan girls. If you want special consideration or for some reason have a spare person feel free to pm me in advance.
Tip at the restaurant please. -these folks are working hard to bring us a late but tasty meal. And each year they do a bang-up job! We need to show them our appreciation.

As a side-note to beer fans. I am also planning for Pint Night at Tacomac that afternoon. It's roughly the tenth anniversary of pilk videos and I wanna party damnit |:> They also have hard liquor and your basic bar necessities, so even if you're not a beer fan ponder long and hard. As there will be drinking involved and the bar is a few miles down I-285 transportation will be a must, so I am working out a few figures there as well. If interested PM me. It WILL be a blast!
