Upload into the "UPLOAD" folder. The root folder doesn't exist.

You can enter again, but do you really think three scenes alone make or break your video? Your call. Just saying that if I made a video that didn't get into a the contest last year, I probably wouldn't send the same video in again this year unless I had no other options.

deuceloosely wrote:Question...

This is the situation. Last year I submitted a video (which didn't make finals). About two months later I realized some scenes were of questionable visual quality and replaced them with different anime. In other words, the three FLCL scenes were replaced by Pokemon, Azumanga Daioh, and Gravitation.

Now...even though half the scenes and the song are unchanged but improvements were made which raise the overall quality of the video, would I be eligible to enter it into this year's contest?

I know it sounds lame, but three scenes is a lot when you consider the video is just 45 seconds long. I'm still mulling it over. I might send my Pepto Bismol commercial instead if I can't bring my computer up to condition enough to allow more than two minutes of editing without freezing...

Don't feel bad Rider4Z, I almost did the same thing. The last second though I realized and then uploaded to the Upload folder. XD

Hello, my entry will have mixed NTSC and PAL. Will that cause gray splotches to appear on the video? Also, how much quality is lost from compression? Thank you for organizing the contest.

I just entered a video. This is going to be my first anime convention, as well as my first time entering one of my videos into a contest. Should be fun, I hope the sound is loud and booming.

I've learned this lesson the hard way more then once...I have a TB external now that holds the backups of all projects, finished & work-in-progress ones.

Oh no! That is horrible news! Sorry to hear that Pwolf... :( I always look forward to your AMVs and it looks like I'll have to wait to see some of your new stuff. I hope you still have the motivation to restart/re-do the ones you lost. I heard there is a way for professionals to recover lost data on failed hard drives but it's massively expensive and it's not guaranteed to recover all the files.

I've decided to send an older video I had no intention of sending to any cons but I am curious to see how well it would do. Luckily it was moved off of that hard drive :P As for getting the data back, I am going to keep the drive until I can afford to get it recovered. Last time I had to do it, it cost me $300. This time it's a more advanced issue so it will most likely be upwards of $1000. And honestly, those videos are worth that much to me.

I did manage to get the premiere project file and some of the avs scripts off of it before it was unreadable so I could re-rip the dvds but at this point it's too much work when I'm already swamped with other responsibilities. I would need at least another week to get everything ripped, finish filling up the timeline, and then fine tune my edits. Just not enough time.

If you can get another HD of exact same type - swap the circuit board. If the problem is there, problem is solved.
