Umm...no sound in mpg file

Umm...no sound in mpg file

Yeah, I'm not totally sure of what I'm doing, I'm just trying to get this vid right for a con.

So I rendered my video as a mpeg file in sony vegas pro 8.0. I play the video back in the VLC media player and windows media player, and I hear no sound?
Also there are motion lines throughout the vid. Any way to fix that?

Weird... every time i've tried rendering MPG comes with sound but interlaced -_-,Try rendering it another format like AVI.
