Dismiss all whiny little twats that want you to hit beats with white flashes. And listen strictly to the feedback of the people who matter and know their shit.
More often then not that'll lead to unorthodox and GOOD feedback.

I suggest you have 3d Extending flying boobies that twist like a vine on a hydro pole.
Now THAT'S good advice.

Disagree completely. If you listen to em just cause they "Matter" and "Know Their shit," then all your doing is conforming to other peoples standards and interests, not your own. I question the whole point of editing a video yourself if your just doing it the way someone else would prefer it done, just cause they "matter" or "Know their shit". Furthermore, if your just doing it to receive good feedback then thats like creating something just for the sake of receiving praise. Wouldn't you rather create something you want to create and/or be pround of yourself regardless of what others think? Some one else said it before in this thread (I don't remember who)... Do what you want to do and if others like it along the way then consider that a bonus.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying don't take what they say into consideration, by all means. Though listening to them just to get good feedback from them is flat out disregard for your own interests unless your only interest is praise. If your at that point you should question whether making amv's as a hobby is what your really doing.

The reason people seek feedback from people who "Know their shit" is because they can see what you're trying to invoke, and comment on how effective it is. They might even offer suggestions as to how to make your ideas better. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Behind every masterpiece is a ruthless beta tester for whom nothing is good enough.
