MADs are and will always be, superior to the AMVs of this site.

If a 5 minute amv was made from 20 seconds of looped content, your amv would get totally ripped apart in nasty comments.

So why do the people that make mads do it? Or, is the term MAD simply a good description of the creators?
I've yet to see a mad I would care to see twice willingly.

Now as for ep 04, I liked it, been enjoying the show and like how they are unfolding the personalities more with each show.

I'm also glad 04 was short on the beach moe yuri inevitable boing boing you can get so often with the beach ep of most series.

But then, amvs rarely use creative audio editing or original artwork. Also, could you imagine that set to a loop of linkin park? I think not.

When I make a model, I don't make the parts, I didn't make the instructions, nor the glue, nor the paints, nor anything else. I just put it together.
Some of us put things together in a stunning way, some definitely not.

That's how I see AMVs.

I see MADS as generally enigmatically annoying loops sound effects, annoyingly looped snippets of video and then the whole thing repeated several times as if it doesn't count unless it's several minutes in duration.

At least all the great many amvs I have seen have in alot of case shown creative skill that was also worth viewing.
It should be noted, I also think Picaso's paintings suck shit too.

Yes.

But in some cases cliche means nothing negative.

I never said it was. I often like to sink into something cliched and generic, something light, fluffy, humorous. Thing like Hidamari Sketch, Doujin Work, Futakoi, etc.

I wonder if this is how martial artists feel when they watch a redigulus fighting anime? If so I take back all the times I've told them to just get over it.

Riffs in three months my ass, at the rate they practice They'd just be getting callouses about now.

I sure as hell don't. I'm a black belt in Shotokan karate (7 years of training) , a Green belt in Go-ju ryu karate (transferred in from Shotokan, began as White Band Green Belt, 1 year training), and I recently started Iaido (Japanese Sword style). I never feel that way.

Ha! I wish. But no, that's completely impossible. There are a few things that are possible. There are 1 or 2 Grand Kung-fu masters than can kick a hole in a 1 inch thick iron sheet with their big toe. There's a special way you have to hook your toe (I can't do it) and there are many other techniques involved and training. I know them all but it would take a lifetime of training to master them and even there I probably wouldn't succeed. Though I can side-kick through a 5 inch thick pine board and punch through a 3 inch thick board.
