Postby ibmman » Thu Mar 12, 2009 3:22 pm

Tora-con is a one-day anime convention in Rochester, New York which will be on April 25th for 2009.

We're still looking for anime music video submissions for our contest! Help us make it awesome again!
Here's a link to the PDF with the contest rules: http://toracon.rit.edu/files/amvrules2009.pdf
And to the submission form: http://toracon.rit.edu/files/amvform2009.pdf

The con website is here: http://toracon.rit.edu/

You don't have to be attending the con to be eligible to submit, and we'll be able to mail prizes if you win. We've definitely had some entries from people not on this continent before...

So yeah, tell all your friends, and submit your videos!

Re: Tora-Con 2009 AMV Contest! Deadline March 25th!

Postby ibmman » Sat Mar 21, 2009 4:45 pm

We really do need more submissions, if you have any videos less than two years old, that we haven't featured in our contest before, we'd love to have them! Submission doesn't take long, and we've got an FTP server so you can upload them straight to us and don't have to mail anything!

If there's any questions about the contest, or the submission process, feel free to ask me- ibmman85 <at> gmail dot com.

Thanks!

First off, that PDF form where you can fill in on your computer is very handy!

Which leads to my quick question, would it be easier and convenient to just upload that PDF file along with the video we're submitting?

I've submitted my amvs to the contest, one shows a title Demonic Mermaids, which is the title of the amv, at the end of the amv, and a parody, which is barely 30 seconds long, and it has the audio from an episode of Spongebob called something smells, and it will be called, "Look at it, It's Ugly." Will you accept it. Both of these videos I've submitted are submitted by Rolfyboy8.

If you don't have all the amvs by April 8th, may we submit more amvs to the contest, just so we can have better chances of winning?

Hmmm, I think after some "persuasion" to some users here, this con can get the minimum by that time.... :book:

Actually I'm glad you extended the deadline, otherwise I wouldn't have made the March 25th deadline! I'm uploading the videos right now, including a brand-new one that hasn't even seen its .org premiere.

When will you post the finalists that made the list to be shown at the amv contest? I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I too am looking forward to seeing which videos are in the final round, but then again sometimes the judging has to be done at the last minute.

I believe they'll be posted sometime in the next day or two. Everyone was pretty much in a mad-dash to finish projects/homeworks/quizzes yesterday after recovering from the con.
