SALIVA!! AUDIOVENT!! THEORY OF A DEAD MAN!!

Postby Chaos Angel » Tue Nov 26, 2002 6:42 pm

Over the previous weekend, I went to see all three of these bands in Chicago with my girlfriend and her friend. I must say, it was fucking incredible. My ears are still ringing. ^_^

I'm so glad she talked me into going.

Anyone who hasn't gotten in on this tour, hurry and buy tickets!! All three bands put on one HELL of a great show!

Did they give you a free T-shirt for saying all this?

Actually, I had never heard of Theory of a Deadman but Saliva is pretty good. What kind of a stage presence did they have to make you rave about it so much? It must have been pretty good, so details please :D

Theory is a pretty good band. And yes youmust have heard the song "nothing could come between us" some time. They only got on tour with Saliva because Chad Kroeger is their boss. Oh well at least that song hasn't been used too much in vids.
Love and Peace! ^_^

Well, I am really bad at putting things like this into words, Misty, but I shall most certainly try.

Theory of a Dead Man is fairly new (or, at least, new to the radio, which probably means they've been around for awhile before that)and they currently have a single out called "Nothing Will Come Between Us". ToaDM didn't have a particularly energetic stage prescece (i.e. no hopping around, screaming, etc), but they put their hearts into the music and really played well. The songs came out sounding damn good and it was hard not to get into them.

Audiovent, the lead singer was extremely energetic. He kept bouncing from one end of the stage to the other and convulsing all over the place. His vocals were hurt by the fact that he didn't keep the microphone close enough to his mouth to make the lyrics clearly audible, but what happened as a result of that was that the vocals and the music merged into one entity. The music itself was utterly chaotic and frenetic, and one of the guitar players got into it too, climbing up on the drum set and hitting the cymbals with the end of his guitar. The lead singer and the two other guitarists were jumping all over the damn place and the music simply infused the entire audience with energy and got everybody jumping and screaming.

Saliva, the main band, was VERY big on playing to the crowd. The other two bands had talked to the crowd a bit, but Saliva's lead singer just wrapped the audience around his finger. In addition to high-energy, VERY loud music, the guy worked the crowd and got everyone screaming, jumping, moshing (even though the security guys had threatened to kick people out for that... ^_^), and just enjoying the hell out of the time. I swear I thought the floor would give away from underneath us.
