well... it looks like this amv was done using vegas, so it shouldn't be that hard figuring it out. Either way isnt it possible to do this by just negating the masks? im not sure at all. sry...

The first thought that comes to my mind is creating the mask of your character (or whatever), then copying the mask and pasting it onto a solid color matte.

either that or you can play with threshold and "night vision" until you get the colors you want?
