Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka

Postby Ishbalan » Mon Dec 29, 2008 12:00 pm

This show just finished. Throughout the show I was all  because it looked like the most typical romance anime you could find, despite the big seiyus involved.

All was forgiven and it instantly became an awesome show in the last episode because:

Spoiler :
He ended up with his sister.

I was thinking of making such a thread...

RAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEEEEE

Ok, beginning was fine, quite liked it. Then it soon went totally retarded with lots of silly episodes.
Around ep ~8-9 it finally became good again, with some really nice romantic scenes etc.
And then they completely fuck up the ending. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
/me hates this serie.
I dare you challenge me.

A Yuuhi end was what was expected. It was exactly why I almost dropped the show several times. I was ready to drop several episodes ago until it revealed that the random 007 couple was actually their parents lolwut (It may have said that before, but I must have missed it).

Anyway, this pic describes my feelings pretty well.

yea, very steriotypical romantic comedy, i stopped watching partway through and then saw that it had finished a month or so later so decided to see what the ending was like. big facepalm moment when the "young sister with over sized proportions in the school swimsuit" fanservice scene appeared in the last ep.

That, too.

Why the hell did they have to go through all those romantic scenes and developments with Yuuhi (which were quite awesome, didn't expect them from such a show), if they completely fuck up everything at the end.

And I never liked Minato either (well, not like there were any really good characters in this one, really... maybe Nagomi :D). She was sooo annoying... Leave Aya Hirano for energetic girls (Haruhi, Konata) or lolis (Chiko), because in such a case it's just too much squeaking. >_>

You bash my Imouto? You're making lifelong enemies now.

Minato singlehandedly pulled Junichi out of the guise of Geno Killer. Through her sisterly love, he was able to realize his truer identity, and once he had that, he made friends. She has always loved him dearly, but only as a sister can. Since there was no one competing for his affection, that was all she needed to show.
Once Yuuhi entered the fray, Minato realized how deeply she truly loved her brother, and she began to feel abandoned. Another episode or two in that position, and I think we would have Shuffle's Kaede situation. Once Minato showed some glimpses of her sincere feelings to Junichi, he began to feel the same things, creating an awkward situation between them. Yuuhi was able to sense it immediately, and she knew that she was an intruder to this superior relationship. Her romance with him had only forced their feelings to light. That's why she made Junichi choose between them, ultimately forcing him to face his demons.

Yuuhi said it herself:

The only way the ending could have been better is if Yuuhi stopped living with them. Also, if Papa had told Minato the truth (shes adopted).

I understand that and I acknowledge his choice from that point of view (don't liking Minato has nothing to do with it... well ok, maybe a bit :p). What I hate is the fact that they made those scenes with Yuuhi, which I found so very cute (would post a pic or two, but I don't have the eps with me atm) and then cut that relationship off. It's just... evil.

Completely agreed, she fucking said she's fine with it, so GTFO from that house.

That was fun. And by fun I mean scary.

PS. calling Minato an imouto type is an offence towards characters like Sunohara Mei, Nogizaka Mika, etc. IMHO. ;p

Typical harem is typical.

I guessed at the beginning it would end with his "sister" and well...it came true.

I felt like there were too many filler episodes that bored me to death.
There was some cute development here and there, but I couldn't get over the typical harem mentality of the show.

I like your thought processes. Having him with Yuuhi is like 'dar' yeah they'll get together. Too many easily predictable anime like that but BLAM, SISTER SEX?! (there's the option that she's adopted but it's never confirmed nor denied ^_^) That and personally, I liked the sister a ton more than Yuuhi's snobbish flat chested self.

Not only was she the ideal housemate, but she's also a fireball when in a pinch. And super sexy to boot ^_^ Genokiller is the man...

I really didn't like the ending. It just didn't sit right with me. I mean all the devlopement with Yuuhi and just BOOM they aren't together and a dif character is chosen. The hell?

somehow it was obvious he'd end up with his sister.
He was only watching her through the whole series.

So I was just sitting on 4 files hadn't watched them. Watched the first only yesterday. Then I got hooked. Power watched almost the entire series today.

I liked it.

The ending, not surprised, it's an anime after all, of course I'm not surprised.

Just wish my life was as interesting as the anime's I watch.
