Again, my individual songs playlist is uninteresting, so instead I post a breakdown by artists that comprised more than 1% each of the total number of tracks I played

Image

Interesting statistic: of the 19 artists that I listened to most in the last few months, I discovered...
-4 through my parents
-7 through relation to artists I discovered through my parents
-8 through the .org, including 6 through direct pimping by members on this forum :P

I guess I'm a conformist sucker after all?

Time for my regular update - as usual, because I resent the iPod culture of listening to music by tracks, and rather go by albums or even album series, the artist breakdown is probably a lot more telling:
Image

Fun fact: in terms of the number of tracks in my collection vs. the number of times I actually listen to them, Exit Clov, OSI and Pain of Salvation are the artists whose music I replay most on average. If I just separate out Robert Fripp's soundscapes from King Crimson, those are by far the most listened albums for me, with At The End of Time having been listened to a half-dozen times in the last month or so alone. :P

Winamp keeps track of which songs it starts to play over and over but since I have it on random and over 2000 songs in the playlist, I tend to hit the "next" button a lot. This kind of screws up keeping track of which songs I actually listen to over and over. >_>

I tend to collect music by specific artists and soundtracks of specific shows so much of my collection is made up of whole albums too.

Wow, keeps track of all the songs you start? That's pretty dumb.

My (very basic) playcount plugin in Foobar actually only counts songs where I played over 1 minute of it (or the whole song if it's less than 1 minute total). I find that's a lot more rational. I wonder if Winamp has a setting somewhere.

I agree it's pretty daft. It would be more useful if it only counted the songs that are played all the way through. If it has a setting to correct that, I haven't found it yet.

Excuse my top-played tracklist being terribly unexciting (or, conversely, really awesome :awesome: )

Image

:P

The artist breakdown is a lot more reflective as usual of what I actually listen to however.
