how do u do da cookie cutter effect dat look like piano keys

i've already looked up at the how to do page
but can't find anything that's about my problem.
i've been trying to figure this out for awhile
but i still can't get it right
what i do oh btw i use vegas 8
so what i do is i use cookie cutter and then on
the transition track for effects i first set a point to the size of the cookie cutter that
i like then set another point that's set to zero
the problem is in between transitions i get flashes of small squares i can't figure out how to get a clean flash in and flash out of the cookie cutter
i tried putting the set points right next to each other and i still get those square flashes
i'd really appreaciate the help i'll get

use a barn door transition instead of trying to set the keyframes on the cookie cutter :/

you don't !! .. well, not directly anyway!

Piano keys affects are best used with templets. Color Key the the videos to the color
needed for the keys being used. In Vegas; the layer will automatically respond.

how you use those templets are up to you.
