Otohiko wrote:Interesting - just woke up and checked the results, and Obama has ended up with a 6% lead in the popular vote (at least so far). That is actually pretty damn impressive. I guess godix will have to approve him as at least 1/3 a deity.

Also, racist websites? Don't have to go far. I'm going on a prolonged hiatus from one of my military game forums now because people there, right up to the admin, are being a bunch of immature and bigoted dicks, and have frankly disgusted me on every level. I really, really hate sore losers (and I'm not damn near an Obama supporter).

True that, I admit the popular vote margin is a lot wider than I thought it'd be. He's not at the 'christ risen and returned to lead us' level but he's definately at least a minor deity. Perhaps a Hybris, Mania, or Dionysus returned to earthly form.

I can understand being annoyed at the sore loser thing. I'm not a big Obama fan, then again I wasn't a big McCain fan either, but come on. It's one freaking election. On Jan 20th no matter who takes the oath America will not be destroyed by earthquakes, fires, tornadoes, and democrats burning LA and Chicago to the ground. Well, ok, maybe the burn LA and Chicago to the ground might happen. This is the same demographic that celebrate sports teams winning by torching cars, who knows what they'll do to celebrate a win that actually have some meaning. Then again, it's LA and Chicago. It's not like it's somewhere important or anything. Still, I have the same low opinion of current whiners that I did of the 'I'm moving to Canada' democrats in 04. Sometimes your guy wins, sometimes he loses. Grow up and deal with it already.

Anyone notice Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann kept her seat despite these two interviews? : /

I am disappointed she is still around... even if she isn't from my state.

Yes, there's one thing that pisses me off more than most, and that's sore losers. I'm actually really, really grateful that McCain himself wasn't one.

Also, I see that it doesn't look like the dem control of the house on the level that you feared isn't going to happen. I guess we should all be relieved?

It was doomed to pass. The opponents should have taken ques from Prop 2 (farm animals have rights now baby!) and included some sort of cute furry animal in their pitch - something like bambi or a hamster.

It can still happen, it's just very unlikely. Which is good, one party having both congress and the president tends to end very poorly. Just consider the last time it happened was the first six years of Bush and the time before that was Carter. I'd hate to think how much things would get fucked up if they dems didn't even have to give a token of attention towards republican concerns.

Considering Prop 8 was about gay marriage, a hamster would have been very fitting.

You know, having seen your comments here and on other's journals, I'm a bit surprised (pleasantly) that you and I seem to have similar political views.

...oh wait that might mean bad things for me >_>

It's astounding I've dropped my usual mockery long enough for anyone to notice what my political views really are. I must have been sick the last few days or something. I should know better, discussing politics with people who don't understand politics (which is most people) usually just ends up with frustration and annoyance. However everyone understands a nigger joke even if they don't quite get that it's not blacks I'm making fun of...

Not that I'm saying you don't understand politics, just saying I must be slipping if I was serious enough for you to know what my politics are.

I'd agree on discussing politics since I live in a VERY blue city and am not a tree hugging hippy who hates his country :P so...I'm a rarity here.

But yeah, I think I've gotten enough to conclude you're big on 'less government' which would in some sense make you a federalist and firm believer in the 10th Amendment (my favorite :P). Considering in this day and age everyone thinks the government will fix things...you and I are a rarity. The cynical pessimist or cautious onlooker. In this day of 'hope' and 'change'...that's MADNESS.
