Grayscale/Black & White filter for FCE?

Post by Kaji01 » Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:35 pm

Doing a parody of an old trailer, and to help keep the feel I need to convert the finished product to black and white. Does anyone know either how to do this in Final Cut Express or what program I can run it through (on OS X) that will?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know about FCE (although I would have thought it would have had some rudimentary colour control), but in Avidemux you can use the filter "Luma Only".

Easiest thing to do would to be to export your entire video, then re-import it in FCE. Then, add a Color Correction filter to the video and bring the saturation down to 0. If you just need B/W in just a few parts, you can do the same thing to each clip.
