Currently:

Rereading the Artemis Fowl series, in preparation for buying the newest one. Is as interesting as it once was.

Am about to start Dostoevsky's The Gambler, which I have read off and on for the past couple years, and will force myself through it all at once this time.

I'm finally reading Watchmen, which is pretty awesome so far. I'm also re-reading Sunshine by Robin McKinley, which is probably my favorite vampire novel ever. In addition, I have a rather large stack of books on my bedside table that I'm working my way through that includes some stuff by Dean Koontz. I need to read more and stop checking more books out of the library until I've finished all the other ones I have to read. >_>

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman just came out a week or two ago. Pretty good story. The cool thing is he did a reading tour in promotion of it where he read one chapter at each stop then put it up on the web. So at the moment you can listen to the entire story for free at his mousecircus website.

The last book I finished was "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov... Good book. Made you understand things better. Tragic :o

Rightnow I'm reading a collection of essays by Carl Jung. Such an interesting fellow :D

Traitor by Matthew Stover, a part of the New Jedi Order series and honestly pretty boring, as well as God Emperor of Dune, and am about to start on the newest Artemis Fowl.

Reading some existenntialism stuff in World Lit for classes, and I'm liking it so far. We just finished War Poetry, and I could have seriously passed on those. We also read some very interesting Japanese Literature (Aguri by Junichiro), which I did get into.

Personally, I'm still neck deep in MElody Carlson novels, although I've finished half of my collection.

I'm next going to re-read the Twilight series, in anticipation for the upcoming movie. :O

Ah existentialism very interesting :D What specifically have you been reading if you dont mind me asking. I am reading some absurdism, specifically The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus, very interesting and thought provoking stuff.

I just read the first three chapters of the Higurashi manga with Oto on aim...

... it was kind of entertaining, in a "omg must stay alert because I JUST KNOW the manga is trying to lull me into a false sense of security" kind of way.

Sometimes, it succeeds. T__T

No idea, I haven't seen it (nor, afaik, has Jasper).

It is, however, good so far. I don't like some things in it, but it does do the lulling-into-security part well. Just that I hope it doesn't abuse some of the devices that it keeps repeating (like the whole - "this shit is bad" - "oh phew, that wasn't so bad after all" - CREEPY STARE - "OHFUCK" cycle).

Even if they do keep abusing that cycle, simply tacking on "GAH MAKE IT STOP" - "okay, it's back to being tame now" - "NO WAIT IT'S NOT ASDF" to the end will probably still get me every time. :|

If it's like the anime the ending is anything but 'it's back to being tame' although each story arc starts off as tame and builds up to just plain fucked up.
