Okay, I need to ease my self back into editing :p

20 - 30 seconds would be awesome. I also want to test and master some effects ideas I have BEFORE I start a large project.

Might I suggest some sort of trance/"techno" music, as those are pretty fast paced and they can be quite long.

Heh.

I'd be in this too, but alas! Have no resources, do I. But I'd like to help in some way if I can.

The deadline in my mind is december 13th or so, because I'm gonna need to compile everyone's sequences.

Considering I'm personally against eye-candy videos and am busy enough with AMVs as it is, I'm gonna back out of this project.

I'd love to be a part of this. Just give me the song and a section to work on, and I'll do the rest.

I like Jonmartensen's idea of bleeding the sections over a bit. It would allow some leeway when combining the sections together.

Question, though. How do you intend for people to send you their sections? I am having FTP troubles, and to keep it high-quality before the compiling and final-encoding, I would probably need to give you something either uncompressed or huffyuv. Even without hosting issues, I may not have the space for that. With issues, I can only FTP something less than 50 kb onto my site. (My university caps out uploads to conserve bandwidth). So, I would probably need to mail you a CD with my section burned on it once I got it completed. Would that be ok? It should only take a day or two by first-class mail.

I'm gonna trust people that can upload with my shitty 10gb hosting once it comes back up at the end of the month. What I would suggest to people on shitty connections is rather than spend 5 bucks on shipping me cds is to go to a local internet cafe with at least a T1 connection, and upload it from there. I also agree with the overlap and a basic additive fade between the two.
