apparently you do:
::+::VOLKSVAGON::+:: wrote:RULES:
3. No noobs allowed in this MEP. Noobdom will be determined by your level of obnoxiousness and level of poorly-done-effect-whoring/sketchy-timing.

now on to the rest of your rules:

1. Your track must have five seconds of blank screen before and after the video, for easy editing purposes.

actually the truth is, that makes editing purposes more difficult @_@

2. Your track must be wide-screen! If it isn't 848x480, MAKE IT THAT WAY.

hmmn you know, as "humorous" as it is the way you put this, just stating that you would like the project in 848x480 would have been enough..

5. No intentional, harmful discrimination!

shall I quote the newb rule again? you are intentionally discriminating against "n00bs"

6. No kingdom hearts, naruto, dbz, extraneous hentai, or pokemon/yu-gi-oh/digimon. NONE.

i like how you make an exception for hentai as long as its not extreme... and i love how that fits into a category with like pokemon and stuff...

7. DON'T FORGET! HIGH-QUALITY FOOTAGE IS IMPORTANT!
8. Frame rate = 29.97fps

What codec do you recommend? considering your Xvid/Divx issues in your extremely urgent help thread it makes me wonder if you know what the lossless codecs are?

9. THERE IS NO LIMIT ON HOW VIOLENT YOUR TRACK CAN BE! SERISOULY! ROCK OUT!

ah the good old American standard: blood and guts are okay but sex is a no-no!

Also just a note about the org rules: if your video is too violent, you can't host it on the org...

what about violent sex?

10. Any questions, feel free to ask.

no not really but I though I'd point out some "issues" I have with your little set of rules O.o

11. If an editor has already taken the track you're interested but you think you can do better than them, go ahead and try! If you are interested in tracks but aren't sure you'll be able to edit them, just tell me you're interested. I'll put you there :)

so you are going to give tracks to people who are interested but might not make them? why not say you will list them as back-up editors instead? that way you don't have to rely on wishy-washy people

anyways I've sworn off all meps...

Originally, this was going to say "No cunts allowed..." but, I like cunts. As long as they're attached to a human, I like cunts.

now on to the rest of my rules:

actually the truth is, that makes editing purposes more difficult @_@

Well, it does help if your editors mess up and cut off the first few frames...

5. No intentional, harmful discrimination!

shall I quote the newb rule again? you are intentionally discriminating against "n00bs"

What to say to this..."Oops??"

As long as it works in Vegas in high-quality, I don't care what codec it is. Lossless codecs? I know what they are. In case some n00b who DOESN'T joins, however, I really don't want to explain it :|

what about violent sex?

Preferably...not...? I suppose if you're hell-bent on it, you can throw it in and I won't make you re-do your track because frankly I don't give a damn, but hey. If ORG rules allow violent sex, do your worst.

so you are going to give tracks to people who are interested but might not make them? why not say you will list them as back-up editors instead? that way you don't have to rely on wishy-washy people

"I'll put you there..." ...on the "Interested Editors" section. Bad wordage there, I know. Interested Editors aren't given the track. They're given interest on the track and therefore people can see that the track they might want could have some competition.[/i]

Vegas should be for the most part frame accurate, you just gotta zoom in well enough to see the individual frames O.o and if people are using lossless codecs instead of something like Divx then there shouldn't be a problem :/

XVID/DIVX encoded clips tend to be not frame accurate due to how they handle the "I" and "B" frames. I don't know exactly how to explain it - but for the most part it's the cause of frame inaccuracy in just about any editing program - another of the many reasons not to use these codecs for editing.

Lossless codecs (such as Lagarith and Huffyuv) handle the frame changes a lot better because these codecs were made with editing in mind. It is always best to use lossless instead of a lossy format for both the frame accuracy and the whole lossless factor.

Also, you can eliminate those kinds of "newbs" from your mep by saying you will only accept lossless codecs without actually saying "no newbs allowed".

Also using/allowing people to send you videos in distribution codecs will often times kill the timing of a piece, so in any case its always best to accept videos only in a lossless format so you don't have editors bitching later how you ruined their timing by a fraction of a second. The more specific you are, the less issues you will have later..

you girls are just being naughty.

11. If an editor has already taken the track you're interested but you think you can do better than them, go ahead and try!

Does this mean if my track is better than the person who originally have it, I can replace him? Even if he/she completed his/her track 3 - 4 months ago and worked hard on it?

lol
Even if i wasn't on a hiatus for joining MEPs, theirs no way id get involved in one with rules like that.
I can understand having multiple people audition for a track and picking the one you think is best for it but replacing someone after they finished their track seems a bit too much.
Not many people would like spending months on a video for this and find out later you
replaced them cause you found someone you think is even better for it.
Doesn't seem like a good way of doing a project to me.

I also enjoyed Katies rant

oh my all those rants about the rules....

well I know that VV did word some of them pretty bad, but some people should actually start to use their brains rather than ranting about wordings, which happens quite often...
just start asking yourself what he/she could mean by that rule and help him/her out for once...
Just cause he/she is pretty new on here doesn't mean he/she can't coordinate a mep... the only reason why someone can't coordinate a mep is when people act like dorks...
am I rite?

So anyway please help the topic out or just observe it, thanks!
