anime fans are fighting back

Postby qwerty2 » Wed Sep 17, 2008 7:21 pm

everyone knows about the scedule change on Adult Swim last saturday. Code Geass and Moribito were shown at 5 AM et and will be shown at that hour saturday nights for a long while or maybe forever. Fans are sending pizza boxes with messages writen on the back/inside asking them to fix the scedule. They are also posting pics of their boxes they send in. Its freakin awsome. I already sent some in.

Who honestly cares what [as] shows, and thinks the fans screaming bloody murder will change their minds?

1: it's worked before (though not with anime as far as I know)

2: Some people actually like dubs, and don't see Subs as an inherently superior medium that must be followed to exclusion.

This entertained me, and if the past is any indicator...[as]'s response is going to be equally as entertaining

From the bumps i've seen in the past i'd say [AS] doesn't really care that much about anime. They also seem to enjoy antagonizing the young'uns that watch their dubs. I've gotta say it's pretty funny from the sidelines.

They did re-air the last episode of Eureka 7 a couple years back when the series first ran. Though I'm unsure if the 'logging-error' they claimed butchered the finale is really what went on.

Anyone remember the April fool's on [AS]?

Real anime fans don't settle for crap which is about all you can call Adult Swim.

Even Mytube rates higher in my opinion of a venue than Adult Swim.

Real anime fans watch fansubs they downloaded off the net because they ain't satisfied with crap.

Wow, I think I just witnessed a whole new level of narrow mindedness.

Subs are good if 1. the show hasn't been dubbed 2. The show's been dubbed but censored(in the DVD release) or 3. The dub is unspeakably awful (Which rarely happens these days.)

Contrary to popular belief, the original intended viewing experience is not to read the dialog and have no recognition of what's being said, but rather for the person to hear the spoken dialog in their native language.
