No, these aren't. These are the original volumes that Synch-Point released in 2003. The third volume was released both by itself and also with a box; I stupidly got the version without the box because I was cheap.

Okay, THAT's a bootleg. The series was never released officially with everything on just one disk.

I'm assuming that's the REAL Box set?
Yes, that's the box set that was released later. Or one of them, at any rate; I don't know whether Synch-Point released one or two at different times.

So the first three were just the DVDs right? I didn't see a box for the third volume. :x

So I was right about the bootleg. Alright, that's good.

And so the third one is so expensive because it's all three boxes, right?

It has all three DVDV plus a fourth special features DVD. That might help boost the price since people originally payed ~$100 for the three disks separately. But this is does not appear to be a boot to me at all.

Okay! :)
I'll probably just get the three discs though... >_>
I wish I had enough money for the whole series box.

Which one is real...

Or is the only difference that it's platinum?
Is it really worth buying the platinum? Does it contain anything more than the regular box set?

They're both real; the first one was the ORIGINAL box set, while the second one is, as you said, Platinum.

If you plan on using this series for footage AT ALL, then you owe it to yourself to get the Platinum version. The original version was a horrible source, with plenty of GAiNAX jitter, dust and dirt, and (worst of all?) frame blending that made a clean IVTC impossible.
The remastered version fixes these issues and also improves the colors noticeably; about the only thing left to complain about is the fact that Japan got their version ("Renewal of Evangelion") released as 23.976 progressive with the 3:2 pulldown flag, while A.D. Vision for some reason gave it to us as 29.97 interlaced. But at least it's a simple and clean <s>(PLANITb Remix)</s> IVTC job now.

Plus, with the Platinum box set, you get nice Director's Cut footage to work with.

Someone posted a question about this site around a month ago... But I'm doing it again to make sure. Is it legit? Both Full Metal Panic! and Full Meta Panic!: Fumoffu. Thanks :)
