Cast to Stone wrote:I believe coming up with something that resembles a dream is more suitable.. I personally doubt almost any dreams anyone could have could really be made in an amv, with an anime and song. Anime is limiting and so are most of the songs/sounds someone could use, not to mention dreams usually have to do something with a reality you won't be able to capture in video (especially with those limiting anime sources) or even explain to people that have nothing to do with that reality.

Take nerdstrudel's idea for example, he was probably talking about weird stuff with his friends, interesting shit must have happened for him but a depiction of all this in an amv would really doubtfully look even decent, and even if he somehow "got it", we "wouldn't get it". I hope I'm making this more clear than I think I am making it, but yeah..

Mmh, yeah, point made. Basically you say that translating dreams into amvs is almost impossible due to the limited nature of amvs... that's right, but it's an interesting experiment we should try. As hard and doubtfully possible to fullfill, I believe that the idea behind this mep can bring to a really unusual and different experience, that's why we should try it.

I'd like an anime that takes place in some big modern-age house where many huge dinosaurs are attacking and the characters are repelling them. No seriously, that's the last dream I had years ago, if there's a possibility it can be done I'd do it - but I don't usually have dreams, probably because of my general lack of sleep.

I seriously hope you're talking about amving.

Yeah that's actually what I meant to say, sorry for not making that clear. It's all about limiting sources and limited things you can do with them..

Well either way good luck with the mep! I hope you get enough people with amv-able dreams to pull this off, though I still think decently amv-able dreams are a rare thing and should be pretty hard to depict. Though some hentai could make things easier for some people. \o/

Oh, if your problem is just that, than it's not a real problem... I mean, when I said that it needs confidence with effects, masking was included... as long as you can use multi-anime, well, you actually can make the scene you want. :\

You could also use 3d, if you're able to... but anyway, you could take, for example, dinousaurs from abenobashi and the house well is it that hard to find? I don't think so, there are a lot of anime...

also 3D if you know it... however you can take dinosaurs on abenobashi and your house is it so hard to find it? don't think so, there are a lot of anime...

The dinosaurs need to be trying to get in through the windows as the characters stab them and then those weird animal-like things start breaking through the doors and windows and they fight them with shotguns - the characters (who they are, their personality, background and how they handle stuff) and the environment also play major roles.

Though if you're not a bitch about details as I am this is generally a dream with enough action to somehow be depicted in an amv, well the general idea of it.. All the dreams I can recall from back when I actually dreamt are not really amv-able (certainly not as much as the dinosaurs one) but one thing that I do recall being amv-able and you should include should you find a fitting source is that falling dream. Many people have this one, especially at a young age - you dream that you're... falling. And before you hit the ground and your insides go out, you wake up. That's something short but it would be a really good addition.. I'll do it if you help me find a fitting source, which doesn't really seem hard but it could turn out to be (nothing coming to my mind right now).

Well, if it's a long stuff, then there are limits and all, but I'm talking about things that are possible to be told in... say... two minutes or so.
About the falling one... would "Girl that leapt through time" work?

I won't even consider joining if it's stuff that's not even creative like Slapping GWLTT on some falling type audio... honestly.

I'm in xD

I actually have a song already, and to create a shiny-scene with multiple anime could surely be fun
