Seein ur amv on a huge screen with 7.1. I'd die happy after that.

Do University theaters not count? There are some pretty large University theaters in Canada, even up here in Thunder Bay.

I dono ... i assume they would, but i don't think it would be quite the same impression as going to see amvs in like a Galaxy or Cineplex theatre.

Considering the quality issues of magnifying it on such a huge scrren and 7.1 is overkill for almost all AMVs, I think a University huge lecture hall theatre is just as cool

yeah, i guess most CDs are just stereo ... but you could make the entry lossless pretty easily by converting it from lossless to .vob, then then person in charge of running the show could just rip them onto a hard disk and play them from there. It's pretty simple really ... hm, how much does it cost to rent out a theater for a day?

I have no idea for a normal theater. But a University theater would cost us around $400 for a 500 person theater + Equipment costs.

Really!? That sucks. The university we have here lets us use one of their theatres for our Anime club for free as long as we book in advance. But yeah, I agree with Vlad, A.E.'s AMV room is HUGE!! And with the added sound system it was standing room only last year for the main contest.
Something you might not know about me: I have 2 anime tattoo's (And plan on getting several more)

Due to various problems they are scaling back the convention from three days to one (so, a "mini-con") this year, but plan to be back to three next year.
