I enjoy the song a lot, but the only thing that really bugs me about it is this line. I don't get it AT ALL. What's worse, NOBODY will explain it to me. Not even the LeetStreetBoys themselves. :/

you know, I love the voice effects. also don't know if it was written by the same person, but the Leet Street Boys have another song as well, Masquerade. Plus another song to be coming out this weekend. The link for Masquerade is the same as Yuri the only one, but switch the names, and I think it'll be the same for whatever they are coming out with. To that guy that wanted to know what cel-shading is, its an animation style, Wikipedia has a good description of it, but a good example is Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

Well duh, but the reason the line doesn't make sense is because it's not at all specific to AMVs -- if it's cel-shaded, the footage was already cel-shaded before the editor got to it.

Is Matt2East EVER going to come back to this site, check this thread, and answer our questions?

After having heard the whole thing (I didn't actually listen to it all the first time) at the Otakon prescreenings, I can now safely say that this song annoys the hell out of me. Adding the video makes it tolerable.

But I still want to know where and how this was recorded, because the production sounds very good.

What are the questions you're looking for answered? Whether you like the song or not is your opinion, not something to argue about. I feel confident that the song has a high level of polish and professionalism, but we aren't going to please everybody (and no artist does.) Recording was done at studios in Boston MA (vocals) and Los Angeles California (instruments).

Yes! We have a song called Masquerade! Check it out at www.leetstreetboys.com and www.myspace.com/leetstreetboys

If anyone is interested in making an amv from our songs, we are 100% supportive, just email me and let me know what you want to do.

"cel shaded face in an amv" - girls in amv's and anime are hot. amv's are cool, and the song / video was inspired by amv's, fanfic and being an otaku.

I will be at Otakon next week because the song will be in the contest there. Feel free to come say hi, I am friendly!

Wow. I didn't expect you to react to my e-mail <i>that</i> fast.

Considering that your Last Login date was back in November, I'd begun to get worried that you were one of those people who shows up on this forum once to promote something of theirs and then is never heard from again. Glad to see that that is not the case!

In any case, that's exactly the kind of information I was looking for, so, thanks! ^_^

Also, I don't know why I only realized this today, but this song reminds me a good bit of "<a href="http://www.audioscrobbler.com/music/Neuropa/_/The+Only+One?autostart">The Only One</a>" by Neuropa (aka the best Australian synthpop group ever) off their 2004 album <I>Born</i>, and not just because of the title. (Listen to it; you'll see what I mean. Don't worry, Audioscrobbler wouldn't have the full track up if it wasn't legal; they're owned by CBS now, after all.)
However, one thing this song has over it is an actual ending instead of the weak fadeout on the Neuropa track, which is actually a complaint I have about a fair number of the songs on <i>Born</i>...
