Kita-Kon 2008 AMV Contest

Kita-Kon is having its first AMV contest this year. We have no rules on already award winning AMVs from earlier this year, this is to promote AMVs in our community. If you want more information you can email Odin822@hotmail.com or reply to this topic.

The list of entries will be announced August 22nd 2008.

Winners will be announced here and in this thread August 29th 2008.

Rules:

1 – There is a maximum of 2 entries per person.

2 – Entries must be submited in AVI(Xvid Divx Ect.) or MKV, MP4(h.264 Ect.) at a large resolution (640x480 / 700x400 or greater) Audio quality must be at a bitrate of 128kbps or greater, Sample Rate of 44.1k or greater, and a Bit Depth of 16bits or greater.

3 – Time limit of 7 minutes per entry.

4 – Winners do not need to be in Attendance to win. Winners will be contacted as soon as the results are announced.

5 – Entries that have premiered in public at other conventions or online are acceptable as long as the date of the premier is Sept. 1st 2007 or later.

6 – All entries should be submitted before August 28 2008. We will still except a limited amount to be entered in person at the convention.

7 – No Nudity or other explicit content is allowed

Are lossless AVIs (HuffYUV/Lagarith/etc.) acceptable?

Just to be clear, that's sample rate. What about bit depth and bitrate?

Lossless Codecs will be acceptable.

Just to clear things up a bit.

Sample rate of 44.1k
Bit Depth of 16bits or greater
Bitrate of 128kbps or greater

Also we will be using a 5.1 setup in our AMV room this year.

This is what happened when I tried to submit, please fix..
The requested URL /Complete.htm was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'll try to update my vid for this contest, I'm interested in participating :)

by the way if there are words like "Fuck" or "Bitch" in my vid, is that mean that the vid will be disqualified :?:

As long as the language is not excessive (Every 2-3 words wouldn't be acceptable) then there is no problem with a few swears :P .

The submissions are still working so don't worry about that error too much. It will be fixed soon.
