FFX FMV Ripping

Post by TheBug » Sat Jun 29, 2002 7:17 pm

How do you rip FFX FMVs from the game? I've seen sites which have them, and AMVs that have them, but all are less than stellar quality. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't.

Any clips you've seen have been captured, not ripped.

Currently, there is no way to rip the footage. You need to capture the footage you want. I'm working on figuring out how to rip the FMVs from FFX (and hopefully other games), but only a fraction of the story scenes in the game are FMV. The VAST majority are rendered on the fly.

(wish me luck with my PS2 video ripper... :) )

It's true that 90% of the cutscenes are realtime but there should be enough pre-rendered material to make an amv, I'm sure of it :D

Maybe it's somewhat for the better that FFX footage can't so easily be converted...?

I mean, we're only gonna see a few dozen clips go into overkill. So for now...I think it's best for sentimental reasons that some games are to remain locked, as much as we all want it to be cracked. In short, just let it be...

Tha's just my opinion though...

I think the easiest way would be to goto the place where you can access every video file (in game) and play it, then capture with cap card.
