WMV Conversion

Recently, I upgraded from Windows Movie Maker to Adobe Premiere so I am in the process of converting my completed AMVs into AVI for showing at a con. However, when I use Adobe to convert the WMV files into an AVI it works but the resulting AVI cannot be used in Virtual Dub. Is there a better way to convert the files?

do you know how to use avisynth?

this might be a better method than trying to use premiere :3
