(it´s a thumbnail. Click it for the full screenshot)

*sigh* I think I have to present something like all the other cool kids here. It´s nothing special. Just an final scene composition after the effect comps.

Divx/Xvid clips? <_<_>

I make sure to convert all my footage to an uncompressed avi format before importing it. (but maybe that's the problem instead?) *shrugs shoulders*

It simply seems like the more content I import into the project and place on my timeline, the slower my editing program runs -- which makes logical sense I suppose. Having said that, I don't think it has much to do with the fact that I'm using a bunch of sequences so much as it has to do with how much content each sequence is composed of. (There's also the fact that I'm working with a PC that seems relatively outdated by todays standards.)

But it's not as much of a big deal anymore. At first it was frustrating, but I've found ways to cope with some of the issues I'm having.

This is Vegas 6 on an Asus Eee (4G XP). The picture shows the entire screen. Space is a little tight with a res of only 800x480. Both the toolbar and status bar are turned off to view the third track.

Even with the tiny preview screen, the processor can't preview Lagarith vid in real time. But the rendering speed is at least tolerable. Extra RAM (2GB total) helps.

I don't like messy timelines...

This is the whole entire thing:
<a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/7088/timeline01yw3.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"></a>

This is what I've sweated over for the last 8 months on and off -__-;
<a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/5801/timeline02cn0.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"></a>

What's that junk in the back?? :O It's my lovely footage cabinet organized with markers...right on the timeline.
