Question: What would beta deadlines be for people who take the tracks that are free now?

There are no more official beta deadlines; however, I will be bugging people periodically for updates via PM. What that means is this: export whatever is on your timeline, finished or unfinished, and show it to me so I have an idea of what kind of progress you're making. For those who joined late, it'll be the same deal.

Also, as mentioned on the main page, don't feel like you have to wait for a deadline. If you're done early, give it to me. I know I'm slow as hell with beta testing, and I'm sorry about that. Feel free to harass me relentlessly about that if you're getting impatient. I've already gotten a few strained, but polite messages. >_>

Ok. I'm thinking about auditioning for one of the open parts. I don't have any videos up yet but I might sometime in the next week or so. Although I do have videos on you tube, which are a little old by now.

Ok, so I don't have any videos up on A-M-V.org yet, but I'm going to upload a couple right now. I hope it works this time, last time it didn't.

EDIT: Ok.... didn't work. I'll upload my two best to filefront then, sorry. I know they have the black outlines you were talking about, but at the time I made them I didn't know how to get rid of that and I haven't wanted to re-render them just to get rid of the black outline.

The Fear of Loss: http://files.filefront.com/The+Fear+of+ ... einfo.html

Her Work: http://files.filefront.com/Her+Workwmv/ ... einfo.html

And on a side note, I'd just like to point out that not all the editors on you tube are bad, it's just really hard to find the good ones. Many of the good editors on you tube that I know of just don't want people downloading their videos because they're worried about AMV thieves. And in my case, my computer won't let me upload anything to a-m-v.org. I do respect that rule about ignoring you tube links though and it is one I considered adding to the MEP I'm coordinating. :)

Well then I guess no one is safe, because it is easy to download videos from tube. Although I don't know why you would want to for an AMV, the quality would be absolute crap.

I would like to respond to this, because when I said "no Tube links," I didn't explain my motives behind that. The reasons I'm against linking to that site are as follows:

- it kills audio quality, so I can't tell if you have a good concept of how to work with audio.
- it kills video quality, so I can't tell if you have a good concept of how to work with your footage.
- it kills A/V sync is many cases, so I can't tell if you have basic editing concepts down.
- Tube videos (or other streaming videos) are not something tangible; I can't keep them in a folder on my HD, making it annoying to review them when doing auditions. (Don't tell me about being able to download them - I know I can, but I don't know how, and have no reason to learn currently.)

It has nothing to do with the fact that many people from the Tube are poor editors. Hell, many people from the .org are poor editors. It's the same deal on either site; the Tube is just a much larger playground than here.

Also, if Tubers are really worried about AMV theft, they should upload their new videos both here and there on the same day, preferably right near the same time of said day. If you are the original poster of the video, you have proof against the theft since you can clearly see the "Date Added" option on both sites. Will this prevent other people from uploading and taking credit for it? No, but you'll be able to refute it with undeniable evidence if they do.

Yup, that I mostly agree with. Thanks for the explanation.
