Jeremiah: Crispin Freeman. Hells yeah.
Kallen: When she said her first line, "We're not Eleven. We're Japanese," I almost threw up.
But the rest of the time she spoke was okay.

Forgive me for not reading past page 1, but how long has this show been out in English on CN in the US?

Adult Swim only showed the first two episodes so it pretty much just started.

Watched the entire series recently.

God, this really IS the realization of a "cool list" that the producers came up with, isn't it?

I feel horrible for it sometimes, but I genuinely did enjoy the series. For all its plot holes, inconsistencies, and absolutely horrendous use of cheap plot devices (I mean gebus, seems like half the characters are just there so Lelouch can kill them and create an ethical dilemma for us - I even thought Suzaku was a total tool for half the series. I later changed my mind about it, but now I'm leaning to changing it back...) - this was FUCKING GOOD ENTERTAINMENT. It's as good and bad for you at the same time as the Pizza Hut it so shamelessly productplaces.

Good job Sunrise. After either disappointments with their mecha-oriented steeds (like every Gundam series in many, many years) or good series that would obviously never be a commercial hit for them (Planetes), they finally produce a series that deserves its hit status - even if it gains it through means that are a shameless exploitation of today's "anime chic".

I'm guessing you haven't seen Gundam 00 then...
back to code geass,
I thought the story was well written. The writers really seemed to twist the plot at the perfect moments (unlike Casino Royale  )
...but that's just me

Thanks angel.

I saw the episode from last weekend and I loved it. Though I was a bit confused at what was going on because I missed the first episode. This show looks very promising. It may well become one of my favorites. It's got all the aspects that I love in stories. From royalty and knights to world conquest to waring mechs.

Only one thing though. Every time I watch the main character speak I can't help but feel like I'm watching Ichigo from Bleach. :?

No, you're right. Perhaps I'll see that soon. I've just been so disappointed again and again that I almost gave up on seeing a good Gundam series....

I think we're talking about different kinds of "bad" here though :D
Let's face it, Geass is ridiculously contrived at some points and with the exception of a couple of central characters, slaughters character development for the sake of its breakneck plot. Practically everything it does is extremely idiosyncratic and sometimes downright dumb. But it does it with all with such confidence and gusto, and at such a breakneck pace, that it really doesn't need to apologize for anything. Honestly, it's pointless to watch this series without cheering all along to its shameless brand of epic pwnage! :P

One example of what irks me about the way it does business...
Mao.

Seriously, has there ever been a bigger, more annoying plot device of a character in the history of anime? We learn practically nothing about him, while he's used shamelessly to unravel not one but three characters (Lelouch, C.C., Suzaku); he presents the most farfetched yet predictable obstacle courses to prove the protagonist's unquestioned genius; he's "killed" twice in his short screen life after going batshit insane, and comes back with nary an in-between story - the writers could have at least spared an episode for him where his sole purpose would not have been to validate Lelouch's and C.C.'s awesomeness, and spill Suzaku's little secret :|

Honestly, I was disappointed. And I'll be mad if in later series he somehow turns out to not be dead AGAIN and comes back to conveniently give the writers an easy escape out of plot holes. And I think he could be a pretty cool deranged character if he's not used as such a tool - we see glimpses of it.
One thing I learned though... you kind of have to accept these things and watch the series more as a theater drama than a movie. It does have the right theatrics :)

Episode 6 of r2 was made of 120% win. Seriously, I won't even bother explaining it so just watch it.

The music reminds me A BIT of Eureka7, but I guess that's because the people who that, also made this. Oh well, it's looking good so far, but I don't really like the whole 'eye' gimmick the kid has.

But that part is awesome, and it's that gimmick that'll lead to some crazy events!
