Given that, you would probably really benefit from the 'bait-and-switch' trick from the new guides. You could do your editing with easier to work with files and then only have to deal with the heavier ones when outputting the final movie (or exporting footage to edit in another program).

...My computer sucks more than yours. I have an AMD K6-2 450MHz, 256MB PC133 RAM and 160GB of HD space. I still don't know how I can make a video on this piece of shit. Oh well, I'm soon getting a RAID0, RAID1, RAID 0+1 Abit motherboard (KG7-RAID), AMD Athlon XP1700+ (1470MHz) and 512MB PC2100 DDR RAM plus some coolers and 2 80GB HDs for RAID0 stripping, to boost me to 320GB of HD space.

What guide are you talking about? AbsoluteDestiny and ErMaC's Guide to All Things Audio and Video? That's easily found in the Guides section.[/url]

Sorry, 'Bait and Switch' is just my little nickname for the 'Fast Editing with Perfect Quality' on the guide- the link is http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/videogetb.html#3.

It basically involves making low-quality, fast-codec (like MJPEG) files out of the DVD files and doing your basic editing on them, and swapping the full-quality files back in before doing you final rendering. (very simplified explanation, but...) A very clever way to make life easier, IMO. :)
