When they get that working, will they finally just stop? I mean, there are only so many pixels the human eye can discern
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Oh great, the current dual and quad core CPUs are having trouble with some 1920x1080 content. Now I will have to go and get myself an 80 core CPU .

How about UMUSDHDV (Ultra Mega Uber Super Duper High Definition Video). It will run at 96,000x54,000 pixels! Now I see how much fun these committees have when making these standards ^_^!

The only innovation in t.v. I care about is when we'll get fully 3-D projected images that consumers can actually afford :P (which I know they're working on :O )

I included it for this, though I guess I should have just gone with a quote. As far as I can tell, people seem to be quite happy with shitty quality, if the success of youtube is anything to go by, so all these experiments with UHDV doesn't seem worth the research. I'd rather see developments in.... bah, what's the term, photon crystals? Whatever has a negative refraction index for bending light back towards you.

Preliminary response of the UHDV was somewhat negative. This was not because of the lack of the promised technology, but more in the fact that it was too good. Some viewers got motion sickness when viewing the video image because the image was so close to reality.
