XviD compression : bugs

Postby Wyverex » Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:40 pm

I'm having some trouble using XviD compression, especially when white flashes are fading out.
I've followed AE&ErMaC's guide but I guess this isn't supposed to happen since I didn't find anything, FAQ or such, about bugs in XviD (though I heard it's quite a "young" codec).

I'm using the XviD-04102002-1 alpha release, if this could help... I can't really try another version, it's the only one I've found (A&E's guide's link is broken).

I had similar issues before. What I can suggest you is:

1) Double check that your video width and height are both multiples of 16
2) be sure to use H.263 as quantization type instead of MPEG

Even with this, I had to reencode my vid once because of this isssue
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Thanks a lot, I've changed the final res to 832x464 (both numbers are divisable by 16) and it now works perfectly ^_^.
