Loved the concept, loved the execution of the concept and I loved a lot about everything in the project as a whole.

However, I really didn't like the waiting. Waiting for my track, waiting for the project to get finished, waiting to hear from people, yadah yadah.

I'd love to do this again. :O

Why? What's left to do?

As for reflections and whatnot, it reminded me a lot of the Telephone Project, except that not much happened in the thread. Because of this, I was able to completely forget about the project sometimes.

I'd probably join again if you were doing another one. Quickies are fun, even when they turn out like crap.

Yes I did.

Would you do it again?
Yeah why not. It was fun to edit with a random song you get. It really forced me into stuff that I usualy won´t edit. Ah... doesn´t mean that it went bad. Let´s say it got into alternative editing. It was amusing to suck out a short concept out of my fingers for it.

If I did do something like this again, what would you have me do differently?
I´m pleased. Maybe the front page about the used sources could have been updated more often.

Sure did! It gave me a chance to make a completely different kind of AMV, which was really fun. Then seeing the next guy's anime choice and wondering how it would turn out...I'm excited to see.

Would you do it again? If I did do something like this again, what would you have me do differently?

Yeah, I'd totally do this again, it was a while lot of fun. The only thing that I might say to add is maybe some warning in advance. Just a simple PM saying "you will be the next to edit next week, be ready" or something. Might be helpfull to some people so they know to expect their song sometime within a week or two. But I don't know if it really matters.

Ok, fine. In the interest of following our fearless leaders wishes the rest of this post will NOT be by me. It will be by a totally anonymous project member. But it isn't me. Honest. You don't know who it is. The fact they happen to have the same username as me is just a weird coincidence.

Did you enjoy it?

Eh, it was ok.

Would you do it again?

There are ideas that are so fun you do them over and over and over again. Like performing cunnilingus on a 12 year old girl. Then there are ideas that may have sounded good but doing them once is enough. Like performing fellatio on a 12 year old boy. This is one of those 'once was enough' ideas. Do it again and it'll be as old and stale as AMV Hell 69.

If I did do something like this again, what would you have me do differently?

Remind people to not pick songs that just plain suck. Humorously bad, fine. Just plain bad, boring.

oh and It will all depends on f***ing College :P

- Probably ask the editors a week before they are supposed to get the song if they are ready. That way you have a week to expect for an answer/excuses/drops etc before you actually send the song and doesn't interrupt the pace of 1 week per editor. (well kinda, you would need to see details and stuff)
- Use your Back Up Editors
- Updates were slow and generally we noticed them when SOMEONE else bumped the topic.
- Maybe be more strict with the 1 week limit? dunno, thats up to you and I can understand if some people can't do it in 1 week. But yeah, seems like a lot of people took longer than they should have.
- The wait... either for your turn or to see the finished product. But thats not something we can control much. I mean we knew it was going to be at min 28 weeks. So this point can be ignored.

all in all the project was fun :)

Godix apparently was not happy with his Audio... >_>

I'd prolly do it again. I Got my track done in like a day.. so I was kinda surprised. My audio just happened to fit with some clips hat I had been ripping and convertin'... but yah, not to many problems. I wasn't like.. on my seat waiting so the time thing wasn't bad. is a decent project for a lot of editors to be involved in.

Judging from what you said.

This project needed more different audio.

I understand people got pretty standard audio for the most part.

Hope nobody dropped my audio. But otherwise, this should be cool to watch.

I don't think that was the spirit of the whole thing. I got some fairly standard audio and sent some definitely standard audio... still it was just something I wanted to see edited, not "haha, I'm totally gonna fuck the next guy over with my awesome choice of obscure audio".

I should specify it isn't that I dislike the audio I got, although I wasn't thrilled with it, just that I had kinda hoped the project would be more than the exact same type of song that you can find in almost any random vid on the org. If the majority of segments were just the same old crap that gets uploaded dozens of times a day then there was nothing about the project that was interesting. It will have been, basically, just a bunch of ICs but without ditching the losers like ICs do. Of course I'm just shooting in the dark since I haven't seen the final project but so far it's not sounding promising.

@godix:
At least I can say that I took a song that you won´t find in a vid for now. You won´t find one for sure. Just for the basic fact that you don´t (or I didn´t) find it in the net or on a cd.

Yeah I do hope that people took more unique songs, but let´s see! I gave a unique song and I got one. That makes at least one complete track.

Same here. I got a song that was not something you would normally see in a vid, and I gave one that I'm 99.999999999% sure no one on the org has ever probably even thought of using. (And probably for good reason. :uhoh:)

Well, this was fun to do. It was an interesting idea. Can't wait to see the finished product. *^_^* Would I do this again. Really depends on how I'm feeling. But I enjoyed doing it this time around. *^_^*

well I will not say the song I got is unique, maybe it was since I have never heard it and it gave me a lot of problems in the begining since I don't edit to songs like that lol, which was the point of the project from my PoV, improv in editing to something you wouldn't normally edit.

Now I know this didn't apply to everyone from what I'm reading lol

I'm impatient to see the finished product just because I'm so damn curious to see how the hell the editor next to me handled the song I sent (so want to see that song edited to something).

"haha, I'm totally gonna fuck the next guy over with my awesome choice of obscure audio"

you know you can send unique audio without having that as you intention at all.

You mentioned that both the music that you got and sent were standard, and the reason you gave for sending it on was something you'd like to see edited. You see if it was standard music, I'm sure you could have found it edited if not that particular song something so insanely similar it really doesn't matter. Much like what godix said, it isn't hard to find videos with standard music on the org ... just download anything from the new vid on the block you are bound to run into some pop-rock.

To me this project was about getting people to edit to stuff they wouldn't normally edit to, and that means types of music that are distinctly NOT standard but that you would still like to see edited. Do you like opera? Do you like Country? Jazz? 20s Swing? Minstrel music of the 12th and 13th centuries? there is plenty of music not standard but far from "IM GONNA FUCK THE NEXT GUY OVER" and this is something I would have liked to have seen.
