Uwe Boll is the anti-Christ of filmmaking. Simply watching even a trailer for one of his movies will cast your immortal soul into the fiery depths of Hell where you will be forced to suffer the cruelest, most agonizing fate imaginable; watching all of his movies as well as other equally excrementitious films including Ishtar, Catwoman, Epic Movie, and Batman & Robin repeatedly ON TOP OF being forced to listen to the music of Jessica Simpson, Eddie Murphy, Bruce Willis, Neil Diamond, and Yoko Ono AT FULL VOLUME.

With that said, I have to agree that I too would see any live action remake of an anime simply out of curiosity. SR looks excessively campy, but I have to admit that there are worse filmmakers who could have made it. I'll check it out eventually.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

They already screwed up "Underdog", then after that, they screwed up "Alvin & The Chipmunks", and now this.... When will it END?

I'm pretty sure you meant to post that here.
...unless you meant waiting for the Speed Racer movie brought you the urge to see it.

Im only gonna see SR out of interest and nostalgia from way back on MTV, as for the movie, they really didn't need to make it so over the top on some parts like with the battling rims, as for the way they make the races look i dont know why they needed giant Hotwheels tracks either, for all of that, they should have just done IGPX and went buck wild on a racing movie and no one would have complained as much or just did a crazy ass racing movie that makes the fans say "they're so copying off SR"
Life is but a dream.....So what happens when you wake up?

I was never a fan of SR, but I will probably go see this movie. With the Wachowski brothers running things it will at least be visually impressive, and that is worth the money for a matinee at the theaters. Everything after that is pot luck, but here's hoping that I get something more out of this than the eyecandy I expect.

Are you guys serious? That trailer makes the movie look like so much fun. I'm curious, what were you guys expecting a Speed Racer movie to be like?

x2

Yeah, if you were expecting it to be EXACTLY like the original SR, I can see how you would be upset. But, disassociating it from the anime, the movie itself looks like neato fun. *^_^*
