Cant get anime to work in vegas

Postby MycathatesyouAMV » Wed Jan 16, 2008 7:36 pm

Im having a problem where all of my episodes when dragged into vegas i only get an audio. Ive tried changing some many settings in vegas, uninstalling amv app, reinastalling and restarting teh computer. I dont think that this is the cause of this cause i just edited for the past like week, and all my animes worked during which amv app 3.0 was installed. Then one random day they just wont work. All of their compression is xvid, which ive heard that causes some problem. But they have always worked for me in vegas in that compression. Ive tried someshit and dunno what to do, so ask for some help and advice.

And therein lies the problem. They're not supposed to work. The fact that they were is a random side-effect meant to fuck with you.

i wont bother reiterrating the fact that divx/xvid sucks for editing.... oh wait. newayz, it MIGHT work for vegas if you bother changing the fourCC code on your files. since vegas is touchy about these things it may or may not work. (you can trick vegas to think that your xvid file is divx and vice versa). this may fix your problem in being able to read it, but the codec still sux to edit with

you can get it to work like that...but just ask kevmaster how that ended up (or read the thread)

bottom line: you will [eventually] regret trying to work with divx/xvid footage, no exceptions

the divx/xvid compression is buggy in editing programs, sometimes they will work, a good majority of the time they don't thats just how it is, these codecs were not made for editing

So why is Vegas a lot better compared to others in terms of making anime music videos? Do any of you guys know why? Compared to other products that is.

there is no such thing as a "better program" it depends more on the person using the program... the same effects in Vegas can be achieved by different means in other programs...

I personally prefer vegas because it's what I'm used to using.
