By the way...I joined this forum so I could start on my path towards Otaku as I am still a white belt (lol, metaphor). I wish to fully immerse myself in the world of anime. I am no Narutard. I like Clannad, Tsubasa, Shakugan no Shana, Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, Host Club, the list goes on. But I am still no Otaku. So will you please just answer my question.

If you wanna bacome an otaku, just watch the first episode and then decide if you'll watch the next one. (Thats how I do it)

Let's just say its about a merchant who is traveling with a wolf-girly ^^

I have no idea how many series I know. I have a top 10 and there is at least 30 different animes that I've seen. I can't list them all so....yeah. By the way. It's not about western peoples thinking Otaku is cool. Fact is alot of people in Canada think anime is stupid for various reasons. I just happen to have a serious passion for anime and I just want to be otaku.

1. Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles
2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
3. Lucky Star
4. Clannad
5. Kanon (2006)
6. Ouran High School Host CLub
7. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
8. UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie
9. Death Note
10. He is my Master

Then prepare to be loathed by about 98% of the population. They really don't like foreigners very much, and if you insist on labeling yourself as an otaku, then they'll like you even less.

And in terms of the otaku spirit, doesn't really matter how much you watch or how much stuff you have or whatever, just enjoy it and don't be an idiot about it :p

But that's what.... I'm seriously confused..... I know they don't care much for Otakus out there. Manga is pretty much the Japanese equivalent of American Comics, in more ways than just the comic part. But I am utterly fascinated by Japanese culture. Some parts are weird and a few are downright bizzarre but I still like Japan. Ok I'm getting a little off topic here so back to....whatever the hell this thread is about.
