Song doesn't sync with video?

Postby SunlightxShinobi » Sat Feb 02, 2008 1:31 pm

Okay, so.
I'm making an AMV, and I need a little help.

I need to cut a chorus out of the song I'm using, but everytime I try to, it splits the clip in the wrong place...?

Also, I need the two audio clips to blend together well enough that you can't tell I cut anything out of it...what's the best way to do this?

And another thing. XD;
Umm, when I add a clip to my timeline, and try to play the video+audio together from there, it's at the wrong part of the song...so, is there any possible way to play the AMV from that part, instead of watching the whole thing over again?

(I apologize for being such a noob .__.)

No, I just uploaded all of the videos to WMM and they seemed to work fine ._.

For both of these questions, simply don't use WMM to edit your audio. Download Audacity (for free) and play around with it so you can better edit your audio how you want it to be. Then export it as a .WAV file and load that into WMM.

This I don't fully understand, so I'll just say "huh?", and move onto this...

This may actually be your problem, if you loaded highly compressed videos into WMM, such as DivX or Xvid. To quote Jurassic Park 2: "Not good bed-fellows". Please forgive me if I'm way behind on the latest compression codecs versus editing codecs. But you'll want to reencode your video files to something like huffYUV, in order to function better in WMM, or any NLE for that matter. Hopefully someone else can give you a better idea of precisely what you need to do, but maybe this will atleast start you in the right direction. You might want to ask this particular question on a Video Help forum. Good luck.

Actually i understand that second part you got a Huh? from ^o^ because i'm having similar problems. (hence why i ended up in these forums right now actually) My WMM doesn't like me ^o^ I like transitions, and effects and it just doesn't agree ^^;

I usually have to save a ridiculous amount of clips and mesh them together in a maximum of 1 minute increments of i get a ridiculous lag, that messes up the timing of everything i'd had done and even that isn't the best solution most of the time. I was wondering if it might have something to do with the fact that i don't have a wav file. Could that affect the timing, and overall performance if it? Wondering, and researching now ^.^;;
