What anime would make a decent live action film???

This forum is for the general discussion of Anime.

James Cameron has been planning on making a live-action
"Gunnm" for almost ten years (the "Dark Angel" series was a
sort of test run). FOX had even acquired "www.battleangelalita.com"
but has abandoned it since then. Cameron, however, has always
stated that he would make "Gunnm" after "Avatar", and that
Gally would be CG. Techology-wise the movie is supposed to
be amazing, and it may be that it has taken so long simply
because what Cameron envisioned was not feasible back then.

A decade ago I was a huge fan of "Gunnm" and was dead-set
against a live-action version. Nowadays I don't care so much,
so I'm actually curious to see if he could pull it off...

I just wish the guy would back up this claim. Not as excited about it as I once was, but I'm still a big fan of the series and I want to see if this will ever happen or not.

Yeah... I scour for updates every few weeks. Back when Dark Angel first hit... the promos had shots of Max (Jessica Alba) standing with the Space Needle behind her. Before I knew that the setting was Seattle... it looked like it could be Salem (or Tiphares if you prefer)... I thought at the time that James Cameron would be perfect to bring Gally (or Alita if you prefer) to the screen. So yeah... I'm looking forward to it... if it happens.

I don't know what's more scary, the fact that it exists, or the fact that you already knew it exists...

Yes ?

It must have good actors and a good storyline. And it should'nt simply copy the anime.
But the main core has to be the same..... I'll tell you if la blue girls live action was good as soon as i've seen it

Personally, I've always thought Death Note would make a good movie. Or rather I should say, I think Hollywood could make a much better version of the movie than what the Japanese live action movie was. God, that sucked.
-_- (I guess that's just my opinion...)

On a side note, this is my first post in the forum. Hello, everyone. :)

I don't think any anime would make a good live action movie to be honest. It would just look too cheesy and have a "dumb" storyline that was obviously never intended to be live action.

Dirty Pair might be good. They could get Krista Allen to play Yuri. Dunno who'd play Kei though (Rebecca Romijn?). Also, Golgo 13 with Kevin Spacey as the title role might be good too.

I think that the less 'over the top' visually a series is, the better canidate it would make for a live action counterpart. I also think shorter would be preferable to longer, as less of the story would have to be sacrificed to fit the 2-3 hour running time of most major motion pictures.

I think decent live action has to lack serious to some extent.

I laughed and cried my way all the way through Sailormoon Live action.

But I've seen some live action films taken from animation, and they sucked, as they were trying to be serious, and failed badly.

Hey,Ditto same here.I watched DBZ live action movie but did not enjoyed it much.
