It's an enjoyable anime about girls, mecha, and asteroids. Naturally, the girls are all quite cute and distinct in their own way. For those who has seen NGE, Rahxephone, or similar anime, Xenoglossia will add a girl's perspective to the collection.

So, lemme ask before I decide to add this to my already too huge watch list, does this have anything to do at all with the Idolm@ster game? And also how would you rate it...does it do anything new or interesting? :o (I thought maybe it'd be another Stratos 4 kinda thing...hmmmmm)

The only thing similar is that Sunrise merely just used the same main female characters from the Idolm@aster game. Other then that, it a really, REALLY (to a point that's not even close) loose adaptation of the original.

But yeah, it is like Stratos 4, and I'm wondering why the hell I'm still following this series. Never before a series has put me on the fence of whether to continue following it religiously or just drop it.

Though I did laugh at the part on one of the episodes where Haruka showed off her bathing suit towards her giant mecha, and it started to record her.

The latest episode has quite a bit of funny moments. It vaguely reminds me of the Eva volcano episode.

Does girl's perspective mean extremely cutesy perspective?

I dunno, I thought RahXephon and NGE had plenty of female perspective, so now I'm wondering if I'm going to be thoroughly annoyed by excess amounts of estrogen in Xeno.

extremely cutesy perspective

Initially. They're fairly ignorant for 16 year olds, but you'll see some character development. Although you shouldn't expect the same psychological/philosophical approach taken with NGE.

It's episode 13 and things have picked up a bit. There's betrayal, emotional drama, and suspense compounded by an eerie feeling that the people who are really in charge are up to no good. There's something in the works at Modernkind quarters and it's rolling over the minds and souls of our main characters.

It's funny how you can draw comparisons about the relationships between these girls and their machines and the relationship between a girl and a boy.

Wow, episodes 16-18 (latest subbed) are intense! Betrayal, NGE style invasion and sabotage, and Yuki-chan, wow, it's become serious now.

No, she doesn't. Lyrs, you are a liar.
I was coaxed into watching this anime by a friend. I will now attempt to explain the general situation of the show. Please correct me if I say something wrong.
Auryn was an apocalyptic phenomenon similar to the Second Impact in Eva. Auryn was going to destroy the Earth, but hit the Moon instead, causing it to explode. On impact, the 5 iDOL cores were released from it and Auryn went into an invisible latent state which unintentionally stabilized the Earth from the Moon's disappearance. When an iDOL is destroyed, it returns to its home.
The goal of Turiavita was to gather all of the iDOLs in one place and force Auryn's awakening because "Mama" was insane and felt like doing so. This is similar to the forbidden contact of Adam and Lilith (or angel and Adam, I forget which combo) in Eva causing the Third Impact.
When Nubilum was destroyed, Auryn stirred and began to hunger for the other iDOLs. By sending of the iDOLs into it at once and having them self-destruct, they destroy the core of Auryn and disrupt the Apocalypse sequence.
However, although Auryn is dead, it's presence remains over the Earth, continuing to make up for the Moon's loss.
Did I cover everything?

i don't remember the self destruct thing, but the essential detail is that by combining all the idols, they stabilize Auryn and force it from negatively affecting the earth. from recollection, it seems as though they are alive and forever balancing Auryn's power and guarding the earth
