Problems with the borders in Vegas

Post by Altrouge » Sun Feb 10, 2008 9:05 pm

When I try and use the border effect in Sony Vegas, it closes in the border on the whole video. But say, if I was trying to make a blurred border around a small clip in a bigger clip- can I make the border just around that without affecting the other video? I know this is hard to explain, but it's kind of like, uh, selective bordering? I just want a small video clip to 'blend in' kind of with another bigger clip instead of having to increase the border size so much that it blackens out the rest of the video.

Also, on that note, is it possible to put a border around a masked video clip? So let's say I cut a diagonal line through one video clip; is it possible to blur that edge into another clip?

Again, sorry if I sound confusing, but I can't really think of how to explain it any other way :/ Thanks.

Try using the Glow option on the Track Motion control window. Apply the Track Motion to the smaller, masked clip. If that's not what you want, you'll need to post a screencap.

use the cookie cutters and play with the settings... it's how I did it

I've also used the media generators to create borders.... using the mask tool
