The answer is clearly...

CLANNAD

I mean, it doesn't get more violent than Tomoyo kicking Sunohara 949 times, only to have Tomoya kick back to form a chain combo, resulting in a total of 1013 kicks for massive damage.

I'm surprised Claymore wasn't mentioned yet.

Because Claymore is like Barney compared to the likes of Elfen Lied, Gantz, and Higurashi.

Guess we should be a bit more serious here.

Well, overall I don't like bloody animes pretty much.
the most obscure things I've seen were in Elfen Lied and Black Lagoon.
Althought Pet Shop of Horrors wasn't bad too

Hmm maybe we need to better define violent then.

Because I've seen Elfen Lied, and I can't picture why you would so readily dismiss Claymore. Generally speaking, butchering demons that go around eating people is not overly non violent :)

Or do you need more ketchup?

I think 'Spriggan' and 'X' would fit into that list as well, but yeah, other than that... dunno. :)
