cloud/ mist effect

not sure how to say it. in "seigi" amv,

the first few seconds, there are the mist red in colour.

how do u make those in AE? the red thingy and moving. looks cool.

I can't tell you the exact methology (as I don't know it),
but I got something pretty close using fractal noise.

just mess with fractal noise, you're bound to get something similiar (remember to uncheck "Uniform Scaling" though).

Yeah, I started with a Fractal Noise and animated its Evolution setting to get some movement in it. Then I used this layer in a Displacement Map effect to warp the text using the fractal's animation. And then I just added a Directional Blur and a red-coloured Tint on top.

sorry I can't see what you're refering to here so I'll just add.
In premiere you can make a "mist" by using gausian blur and lower opacity and move the clip around.

Also there is a 'fog' background present in AE that you can play with to do whatever
new banzors in the making :p
