Bloom Effect

Post by Hightlighter » Thu Jan 10, 2008 6:50 pm

Hi. I am a new memeber of this forums, so first I'm just gonna say, hello.

As you've probably read in the topic's names, the topic refers to Bloom. What I'll be asking you today, is not how to do Bloom Effect, I allready know how, but I rather ask you about something I presumly invented. I am not sure if this has allready been presented in any of other videos and AMV's, so I am not stealing or copying tehniques in any way or matter.

Here are a few examples between Non Bloom pictures, Bloomed picture, and Origin Bloom Picture (Origin Bloom - My own way):

I would appriciate comments, crits, so that I can improve, and such.

Whiew, gotta go to bed now, it's pretty damn tight 'round night here.
Have a nice day/evening 'n Good Night

There are a lot of people that already did such things and use them. Me too ;)

I think these pics are alright. I don´t like pic#2 because of this strange radial blur something at Sasuke. For me... pic#6 looks best.

If you use it good you can might give the amv a character. Not the ordinary "just another naruto action vid". Something that people might remeber. So use it wisely.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

This is a well-known effect. In fact, it's so well-known that there's a Core Image filter shipped with OS X to do exactly it.

You haven't invented anything. Sorry.

Oh, and if you want a critique:

If you actually did that by composing filters, give up and just use what's already there. It's likely faster (in terms of setup time and filter execution time), and it's, well, already done.
