Yet another suggestion request...

Postby DocturKnowles » Tue Jan 15, 2008 4:20 pm

Hey all, me again. I've got another request for anime suggestions. Can anyone recommend a show with a good storyline and character development?

I've seen the following:

Hellsing
Hellsing Ultimate
RahXephon
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Ghost in the Shell: StandAlone Complex
Ghost in the Shell: Second Gig
GunGrave
Chrno Crusade
Melody of Oblivion
CardCaptor Sakura
Kaleido Star
Kaleido Star: New Wings
DNAngel
Angelic Layer
Adventures of the Mini-Goddess
Azumanga Daioh
Full Metal Panic!
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
Excel Saga
Those Who Hunt Elves
Burst Angel
Mezzo

I expected a lot more from Burst Angel. I was disappointed...oh well. And I thought they could have done a HELL of a lot more with Melody of Oblivion. Everything was going pretty well until the Mel Brooks' worthy space episodes. And the ending completely blew. Again...oh well. I'd have to say that Cowboy Bebop and the Ghost in the Shell series were my favorites.

I'm really looking for something that's already out on DVD or is coming out on DVD soon.

I'll start with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and FMA. And maybe also Shakugan no Shana (I liked Yuuji's development).
I dare you challenge me.

CLANNAD.

x2 to all of those.
You're the first person I've met who has seen RahXephon, but not Neon Genesis Evangelion. Make sure you watch Eva, because here on the Org, pretty much everyone has.

Also check out:

If you want good story and character development, look no further.
I personally think that code geass is a masterpiece, at the very least it's worth a shot.

Gundam Seed is hit or miss with people, but it's worth mentioning
I'll throw Last Exile, Higurashi no naku koro ni, and Welcome to the NHK in there as well

Crap! I'm sorry, I forgot to list NGE! I've seen the series as well as Death, Rebirth, and End. I actually preferred RahXephon. I know...I'm a mutant... :D

Thanks folks. I'll take more suggestions if you have any but that's certainly enough to get me started!

That would leave only 6 episodes more. Might as well watch it all.

It is, but leaving the story before that filler would literally be the worst ending ever. The filler at least gives an acceptable conclusion.
