Couldn't live without one.

I keep my keys attached to a lanyard, and I tie the lanyard to the belt loop of whatever pair of pants I'm wearing. Without it, I'm sure I'd go through at least ten lock changes per semester.

EDIT: I have to say, they do kind of annoy me at conventions, because my instinct is to beltloop them, but then all the con workers harass me telling me I have to put it on display, which basically means around the neck. And I get chills when anything touches my neck. (I'm going to regret having typed that at ACen, aren't I?)

I know some people who live by these things.

I don't use them, myself.

The concept of a lanyard is utterly alien to me :P
I have no idea how they work or what to do with them. And I'm afraid of putting long things that could catch on stuff around my neck :uhoh:

Useful as cons when there's a notecard sized piece of paper you have to show everywhere. In the real world they're little more than something you find under the couch four years from now and go 'oh yeah, I remember this...'

Maybe it's different being in college, but I carry my lanyard out with me everywhere. It's the one thing I absolutely cannot leave my apartment without. I feel oddly insecure without having my keys with me. o_o

I don't like them. For keys they just get in the way, and I'd much rather clip my badge onto the bottom of my shirt then have it hanging around my neck all weekend.

I find it more convenient around the neck, except for in the case of the massive surfboard-esqe ones they gave to us for comp badges. Though those things aren't convenient ANYWHERE.
