I'm actually really excited about this. I think it looks great. It's fancy looking but they're keeping the campy-ness of the the old show

The main thing I'm worried about is this is going to be a children's movie. It still looks really cool though.

Personally I'm caught in between. Part of me is very excited, while the other is very worried.

1) I'm happy to see the Wachowski's say they want to make a lighter film than usual. The film is suppose to be a family film by the way.
However, I'm worried that it might be too 'light', and end up being stupid. Evidence of this in the preview is the whole "I've gotta do what's right" shig.

2) Some very unique film making concepts are in this movie. For example, a lot of layering is done to achieve a depth of field technique called "deep focus." The equal and perfect focus of the foreground against the background gives the film a more anime-ish look. Majority of the film is shot against green screen, similar to the film making techniques used to make '300'.
However, I'm worried the whole movie is just going to be this plethora of FX drying your eyes out.

3) The majority of casting looks good honestly, even though the original story comes from Japan. Emile Hirsch was chosen to play Speed over Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shia LaBeouf. I personally liked Emile in the movie 'Into the Wild.' And yeah, I can deal with John Goodman as the father.
However, I'm worried with the characters themselves in the movie. For example, the girl with the high pitch voice saying "MOVE IT SPEED!" kinda scares me a little. And what's up with the line "He's the best, that is if they don't destroy him first!"? I'm someone who's known for not speaking proper English and grammer, but even I'm a little stirred from that line.

Anyways, point being, either this movie is going to be cool, or it's ready to be flushed in the collective of Hollywood waste.
