Small problem with Editstudio

Postby Cagari » Sat Dec 15, 2007 12:16 am

I wanted to make an AMV out of Nick Lachey's song "What's Left of Me". It's MP3 format and compatible with Editstudio. When I put it into the video's music part, for some reason the song doubles in length and there's nothing I can do to make it go to its orginal length(unless if I increase the speed of the song, which makes Nick sound very squeaky XD). So far this has only happened with this song and not any others.

try making a .wav version, if you have the cd you should be able to rip to .wav
you could also use a conversion program like BeSweet

Thank you. I'll try that out and if it doesn't work, I'll come back and whine some more. =D

Okay actually I do have another problem...whenever I import files to Editstudio, they all come out as an audio file! Even the ones which are supposed to have both Audio and video! I remember correcting this problem before, but I don't remember how I did it....TT_TT

Never used edit studio, but my guess is there is some setting in like.. preferences or properties or something that say whether or nto you want this to be an audio, video, or both type of thing.

They are mostly AVI files.

avi doesn't tell us much.
.avi is a container-format, we need to know the codec used to encode the .avi file.

if you don't know, get gspot from my sig

I don't think there's anything wrong with my files. It's probably a setting in Editstudio that I can't find(although I have checked all of the tabs).

I assume you are missing a video codec or you have one that EditStudio cannot use.

Well, I downloaded the G Spot program Kariudo has, and it says something like this:

Video Codec:
DX50
XviD 1.0 RC3 (Ni hao)

But I used this file before and there was no problem!!! TT_TT

If that has something to do with Divx, I'm downloading the codec now.

divx encoded files are buggy in just about any editing program, your best bet is to use something like virtualdub to convert the files into something editable.

Image
click the pretty red letters they can tell you more about the problem...

also how to convert:

JaddziaDax wrote:open the video file in virtualdub mod go to video->compression->Huffyuv or Lagarith

then go to file->save

Image
use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room

both lagarith and huffyuv both make files that will take up a lot of file space, to save file space:
1. plan your video out more and take only the clips you need...
2. disable the audio by going to streams -> stream list-> disable stream

also I'd make "test clips" to see which is going to work better in your program...

this is a very common problem :3
