Premiere crash

Postby Emotive » Sat Dec 01, 2007 12:28 pm

And so I open my project. And what the fuck is that?

After that it says it's going to attempt to save my current project, but of course it saves nothing, because my project hasn't even opened yet.
There are 2 auto-saves, and they have the same problem.
I was editing with lagariths and wavs.
Help.

I sent it to someone else and she had the same problem when trying to open it, so it is appearantly a problem with the file.
Still, anyone know what could have caused this? I wouldn't want this to happen to one of those bigger projects of mine.

This was the iron chef video I started on today and had to finish by tomorrow.
If it was one of my big projects of course I'd most likely have backed up (at least a big part of it), else I would be dead by now.
This was one whole day full of work though, I'm fucking pissed that I have to drop from that tournament now (not willing to redo everything).

Okay that's a whole other Chapter, but yeah honestly I don't know what caused your error, I had some errors to with Adobe, but I could open up my auto-saved projects so just little progress got lost :O

Oh and it's a pity that you have to drop from IC now, because of such an stupid error @_@

Well, sadly, I think that now is too late to try something... :(
But for the next time, try to export a lossless version of the amv once in a while. Exporting a lossless "beta" can help in such situations. For instance, if you have a lossless "beta" of your amv and there's this strange Premiere crash, you just have to make a new project and import the "beta" in it, so you just have to go on from were you finished. It'll be harder to make changes in the part you have already edited, but not that much and it's still better than having to edit all from the start.
Sorry if I couldn't be of much help... :(

If you have auto-saves turned on you can go to the folder they're in and try to open an earlier one.

That's what it's usually a good idea to have the auto save feature save very often and keep many versions - you can go back more than just 2.
