Effect?

I was wondering if there was a way to recreate the "jumping" effect in AE from the upcoming movie JUMPER. Such as when he gets into the car.

maybe try masking the character out and applying some blur (directional, gaussian, anything would probably work alright)
speed up the "jumping" part and use a cross dissolve or something like that (you could just mess with clip transparencies too)

It looks like they're masking him out from the outside in really quickly, probably also applying some blur on him. Could be wrong though.. I don't have much experience with effects.

Looks like theres some displacement mapping.
